Concert Guitar - Cedar
The cedar and rosewood model is a full-voiced, responsive instrument, with a strong, rounded bass and a clear, articulate treble. It has a sense of weight and depth to the sound, with notes that carry and sustain, yet remain controlled and centred.
Its design draws inspiration from the work of Ignacio Fleta in the 1960s and 70s, both in its proportions and overall character. The slightly deeper body and increased mass contribute to a more substantial tonal foundation, while still allowing the instrument to respond freely under the hand.
The soundboard follows a nine-fan bracing pattern with additional upper transverse support, based on Fleta’s later designs. This approach helps regulate overtone content and maintain clarity as the instrument is driven, giving a balanced response across the range without becoming overly diffuse or congested.
The guitar is built from carefully aged materials, with a Western red cedar soundboard and Indian rosewood back and sides. It is finished in a thin French polish, with an ebony fingerboard and a rosewood bridge. The combination of light construction and traditional materials allows the instrument to open gradually over time, developing further depth and complexity with use.

Concert Guitar - Spruce
The spruce model is a lighter, more immediate instrument, with a clear, singing treble and an open, transparent response. It has a quick attack and a sense of separation between voices, making it well suited to players who value nuance, articulation, and control of colour.
The design developed gradually through discussion and refinement, including input from luthier Richard Howell. It uses a slightly smaller body than the cedar model, contributing to a more direct and agile feel, with less inertia in the response.
A traditional seven-fan bracing pattern is used for the soundboard, allowing the top to move freely and respond quickly to changes in touch. The result is an instrument that feels closely connected to the player, where small variations in right-hand technique are clearly reflected in the sound.
The guitar is built from carefully aged materials, with a Swiss alpine spruce soundboard and either Indian rosewood or maple back and sides. It is finished in a thin French polish, with an ebony fingerboard and a rosewood bridge. Over time, the instrument develops increased openness and refinement, while retaining its clarity and responsiveness.
