Concert Classical Guitar — ebony bindings brought to level with a sharpened hand scraper and controlled pressure.
2017 — Reviewing Build No. 130 with Richard Howell in his Mornington workshop. Discussing proportion and the visual weight of the purfling.
Build No. 130 Maple and spruce treated with potassium dichromate and UV before French polish, drawing on violin-making practice to gently deepen the ground colour.
Copy of an 1825 Panormo — bracing complete, the rosette set and ready to receive pearl inlay.
Jeweller’s saw and pearl prepared — testing the arrangement before inlay.
East Indian rosewood — French polish built from shellac, sandrac and benzoin resin, producing a harder, more luminous top coat.
